The mission of the Department of Economics at Michigan State University consists of three interrelated components: providing the highest quality instruction to our undergraduate and graduate students, conducting leading-edge research in economics, and providing leadership and service to our professional communities.
Achieving this mission requires that all community members act with professional and intellectual integrity, mutual respect, and civility. Our department fully supports the AEA Code of Professional Conduct and the MSU College of Social Science Community Code of Conduct.
Furthermore, achieving this mission requires us to embrace and learn from diverse experiences and perspectives. We value the free expression of ideas that a diverse community with a vast array of experiences and backgrounds can offer. We are committed to fostering a welcoming and supportive environment where all students, staff, and faculty can thrive.
