The Fed Challenge Team was selected as one of three teams from the 7th District – Chicago to advance to the National Semi-Final. The Semi-Final takes place the first week of November with a 15-minute Q&A, and they compete against two other teams, with the winner traveling to Washington D.C. for National Finals.
This year’s speakers are Robert (Finn) Chambers, James Fischer, Leishaa Karaka, Sean Linden and Romen Vushaj. Alternates Alex Montes, Alin Nguyen and Jackson Schmaltz, and other students also greatly contributed to the team’s success, as have Luis Araujo (Spring coach), graduate student Mahd Mahmud, and alumni Lorenzo Durán Charris, Max Gregg, Sophie Handley, Greg Marchal, Peter van Osdol, Gabe Reyes, Elías Scheker da Silva and Mike Watson, who have supported the team in many ways now and over the years.
Their policy proposal covers economic growth, labor conditions, inflation, and risk, concluding with a policy discussion.
