Headshot of Stacy Dickert-Conlin. The MSU Department of Economics is pleased to announce that Professor Stacy Dickert-Conlin has been awarded the Interim Frederick S. Addy Distinguished Chair of Economics for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 academic years. In addition to the title, Professor Dickert-Conlin will receive funds to support her research.

I am deeply honored to serve in this role. Mr. Addy’s support for our department is inspiring and I’m looking forward to carrying that inspiration to all my roles within MSU’s Economics Department. It’s a great place to be and I’m lucky to be a part of it!

Professor Dickert-Conlin has been with the MSU Department of Economics since 2005, and her research focuses on organ donation and transplantation systems and low-income tax and transfer programs Professor Dickert-Conlin also teaches graduate and undergraduate students, chairs many PhD dissertation committees, and fosters connections among current and former members of the MSU Economics community.

“Stacy's contributions to the economics profession and our department have been truly remarkable. In addition to the advancements she has made to improve organ donation systems and public welfare programs, she is also one of the top teachers in the department. Stacy has also passionately spearheaded programming and initiatives to improve access and equity in the department and in the economics field more broadly. She is well deserving of these honors,” said Professor Scott Imberman,  chair of the department. “All of us are very lucky to have her as our colleague.”

The fellowship was established by Frederick Addy, who earned his BA and MBA at MSU and valued the role that the economics he learned here helped him throughout his career. Mr. Addy and his wife Madeline were incredibly generous with financial gifts, leaving the department four endowed chair positions and an endowed faculty teaching award.
