  • History

Women and Minorities in Economics (WAMIE) is a professional student organization that will prepare you for graduate school, law school, internships and full-time opportunities. From start-ups to some of the largest Fortune 500 companies, local to federal governments, nonprofit organizations to law firms, and universities to research companies, our members and alumni work all over the world.

WAMIE was founded in 2018 to be an inclusive organization at MSU with the mission to challenge misconceptions about what economics is and who economists are, while promoting diversity within the field. Since then, we’ve grown into a professional student organization that prepares students for graduate school, law school, internships and full-time opportunities.

Being a part of WAMIE will give you access to this large and growing network of passionate students and professionals, as well as the opportunity to make connections and gain experience that will grant you an advantage upon graduation.

Just a few events to look forward to if you join:

  • Resume workshop
  • LinkedIn workshop
  • Graduate school workshop
  • Professional headshots
  • Panel events with potential employers, alumni, and other successful econ graduates
  • Internship and scholarship information
  • Social events

From friendships to professional development, we’re here for you. If you have any questions or concerns, reach out to us at wamie.msu@gmail.com.

All MSU students are welcome!

MSU programs and activities are not restricted based on race, sex, color, ethnicity, national origin or other protected personal identity. This program is open to students without restriction or preference based on protected personal identity.
