Biography

Mark Ladenson was a faculty member in the Department from 1970 until his retirement in 20XX.​

Ladenson received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1963, followed by an MBA from the University of Chicago and his Ph.D. in economics from the Northwestern University in 1970.

Mark is a macroeconomic theorist, and over the years was a primary instructor of the Department's ... class on money, banking, and financial markets.

Outside of economics, Mark is a serious jazz aficionado, collector of jazz recordings, and an award-winning jazz journalist and photographer whose photos appear regularly in Cadence and Jazz News.

Mark and his wife Joyce, herself initially a Professor of American Thought and Language and later Director of the Women’s Study Program at MSU, lived in East Lansing. Their daughter, Sharon, is Gender and Communication Studies Librarian at MSU.
