Dr. Shashikant (Shashi) Gupta

Joe HollisDr. Shashikant (Shashi) Gupta (Economics 1980) is the co-founder and CEO of Apex, where he directs the company’s business and technology strategy, spearheads its social commitments, and nurtures its unique corporate culture.  Dr. Gupta is an expert in technology led human-processes designed to match the quality and reliability of automated systems. This has led to several path-breaking technologies throughout Apex’s history. The most recent of these is ProField, an ERP platform for mobilefield force automation, that has quickly become the leading technology in the Smart Metering industry.

The Apex Foundation is the most visible manifestation of the company’s social commitment and philosophy. Through the Foundation, Apex supports organizations in the USA, India, Cambodia, Vietnam and other countries working to empower members of vulnerable populations to become self-sufficient (www.apexfoundation.org).

Prior to founding Apex, Dr. Gupta was a consultant to the US Government on strategic issues related to nuclear waste disposal.  He holds an MBA and a Ph.D. in Economics from Michigan State University.
